How To Play The F7/A Chord On Guitar

F7/A Chord Guitar Instructions

To play the F7/A chord on your guitar, picture the F7/A chord chart shown as your fret board and neck (if you were to stand your guitar up vertically).

The horizontal lines represent the fret bars, the vertical lines show the strings and the dots show where to place your fingers.

Play the F7/A chord by placing your fingers exactly where the diagram shows and strumming the correct strings.

F7/A Guitar Chord Finger Positions

Here is where you need to position your fingers when playing the F7/A chord:

  1. Tune your guitar Tune your guitar to standard tuning (EADGBe)
  2. Index finger: barre 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings on the 1st fret. Use your index finger to barre the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings on the 1st fret.
  3. Middle finger: 2nd fret, 3rd string. Place your middle finger on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string.
  4. Play chord. Strum all strings, except the 6th string.
