12. The Red Hot Chili Peppers (1994)

This was the album that started a new genre of music- Funk Metal. As debut albums go, it wasn’t too bad . They only released one single from this album which was “Get Up and Jump” although the track “True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes” did have a music video made for it. The album bubbled under the top 200 chart but did receive plenty of air time on college radio and MTV which bought the band a solid fan base.

Their 10th studio album debuted at number one in 18 countries including the UK but it only managed number 2 in the US and Canada. It was the first to feature Josh Klinghoffer on guitar after John Frusciante left in 2009. There were 4 singles released from this album which were  “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,” “Monarchy of Roses,” “Look Around” and “Brendan’s Death Song.”

This was their 2nd studio album which was released on August 16th 1985 and features Hillel Slovak on guitar. It was also their last album featuring Cliff Martinez on drums. They released 2 singles from the album which were, “Jungle Man” and “Hollywood (Africa)”.

Released on September 12th 1995, “One Hot Minute” was the bands 6th studio album and the only one to feature Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) on guitar, after John Frusciante left in 1992. No doubt due to Navarro’s influence “One Hot Minute” has a far more heavy metal feel about it. It also features the track “Pea” on which Flea took over lead vocals. The album reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 charts and produced 3 singles which were “Warped”, “My Friends” and “Aeroplane”.

Their 11th studio album released on June 17th 2016, “The Getaway” was Josh Klinghoffer’s 2nd and last album. The album debuted at number one in 10 countries but only managed number 2 in the US, Canada and the UK. There were 4 singles released from the album which were, “Dark Necessities”, “ Go Robot”, “Sick Love” and “Goodbye Angels”.

Their 12th studio album which was released on April 1st 2022 debuted at number one on the US charts making it their first number one album since “Stadium Arcadium” in 2006. It’s also the first album to feature John Frusciante on guitar for nearly 10 years.

Their 7th studio album which was released on June 8th 1999, “Californiacation” saw the return of John Frusciante. It shows John’s musical influence and is their most commercially successful studio album so far. There were 5 singles released from this album which were, “Scar Tissue”, “Around The World”, “Otherside”, “Californiacation” and “Road Trippin”.
